Tomorrow is the DAY!

Can I get an AMEN! Okay, before the Amen, lets say a really quick prayer that nothing else goes wrong! We had our well pump go bad already, the painters showed up a day late, a breaker in our electrical panel was done wrong, a short in the wiring in the dining room.... well I think that's it for this week. Can you tell how stressful building a house can be!? Here are the latest pictures that I have. This is some of the fixtures, flooring and lighting. I can't believe I am posting this instead of packing, but I can't help but to think something is going to go wrong and I don't want to get my hopes up.

The final paint was done last night and we'll take all new pictures of each room tomorrow after the cleaning, but YAY we are almost there! Now for the moving crew!!!

New "Stuff"

Okay, so after our trip to Disney, some things have been changed around the house. The counters went in while we were gone and the Tuesday after we got back, the trim was done. Here are a few pictures.

Last post before VACAY!

Well, initially we believed we'd be in our new house by now, but as we should have expected, we aren't. I talked to our new foreman last week and he is "guess-timating" Mid to Late December. But, oh well... nothing we can do about it, but make the best of it!

So... we are headed to Orlando Florida for Thanksgiving Week and I can't WAIT! We stopped up at the house yesterday to check in one last time before we leave. I was very pleasantly surprised to actually see some work had been done. It seemed like we were sitting for WEEKS with nothing. Here are some pictures. You'll see the ceiling texture, the wood work in the garage, the doors and some more junk in the garage AND the fireplace brick (and some other random enjoyable things)! YAY!!!!!
Flock of wild turkeys in the neighbor's yard (there were more than 20!)

The ceiling texture... same through out house Ummm.... initiation?
Fire place brick close up

Anyone out there know what this green board is for? If so, please inform me (email me).
Got Wood? We do!
Inside doors and our steel door for the bilco
Windows were stained since last time I had been there

An awesome shot of the front of the house... the last one had Curtis's big ole truck in the way!!

Mickey Mouse... HERE WE COME!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Updates inspired by Dawn

No not me... my name twin that referred us to the builder this project! Its been sometime and a lot of drama later, but here is you update!

We are working on the inside... we have our furnace running because the drywall stage is completed. Painting is next, and then the cabinets and such. We were held up for quite some time because they wanted us to put in temporary heat and we refused. The permanent electric was in and so was the gas line, but they hadn't ordered the furnace... so we said we'd wait! They weren't happy about it at all cause it threw off their "goals", but I can't say I care too much... it saved us money.

We were also informed on Friday that we have a new construction manager. The company did tons of layoffs and rearranging, and our guy was forced into customer service. So our new guy Ivan, who takes over this week is now off until WEDNESDAY! Glad we have concerns with no one to address them! Enjoy the pics of this stage of our fun!

This is a picture of our woodwork... it showed up early cause no one told them we were delayed... nice communication in this company, huh? But I got a pic anyway... the top piece is the fireplace mantle.

Drywall pics - from the kitchen to the family room and downstairs steps

Dining room and steps to upstairs
The furnace and water tank (for our well)... you should see how they have the furnace ghetto rigged to run for the time being
The fixtures... all piled in the garage. Hot water tank is there too

A day at the Zoo!

This has nothing to do with the house... but here is a little video I put together from our trip to the zoo yesterday. What a beautiful day for the zoo! The kids had a blast and so did the moms! Enjoy!

Show me da Money

Well that's what our pal Curtis called to say on Tuesday (Sept 30th). So after a trip to the bank, we headed up. He was hard at work on our utilities... septic, gas and well. The trenches were done to run the gas and water lines and the sand mound was completed, as much as the inspector would allow him.

The inspector is new since our approval and changed our septic plans, so that held things up quite a bit. But here are some pictures from that day.

The front of the house, with siding and shudders (and Curtis's truck ;) )

Close up off the gable on the front of the house... was supposed to show the colors, but they look off in this picture

Oink Oink

This has nothing to do with building at all... but this past weekend, we went to Yahner's Pig Roast in the Poconos. It was a great weekend away and its always a great chance to see Kelly, Brian and Kaleb and the rest of the family. Here are some of our favorite pictures:

The boyz enjoying the "jumpy"

Ben and Courtney jumpin' (can you tell Ben spent his whole day here) Can't have a pig roast without the PIG! (yes, I know, YUCK)
The bag piper (I think this was the first year for this - we missed 2 years)
Kaleb blowing out the candles on his birthday cake! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
The pinata
The kiddos waiting for the candy to fall

Jumping again... Um, Caitlyn, you're supposed to jump in it, not EAT it!
Caitlyn and her Daddy!
AWWWWW...

Me and Caitlyn (still eating the net)BEAR! in the Yahner trophy room
Tracey jamming on her guitar

Cake balls - look closely, I made them look like pigs (chocolate ones look like pigs, and vanilla are plain w/o faces)! THE END!!!

There are tons more pictures, but I can't possible download them all!
